I have had many friends tell me, “I am convinced from Scripture and study I should leave the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, but it’s all I grew up with.  Where am I supposed to go now?”  The uncertainty of how to find a church that is accurately teaching and expositing Scripture after leaving Adventism is common and very understandable.  Who wants to be misled twice?

For those at that exact point in their walk with Christ, this video is for you.

Earlier this year Pastor Mark spoke on “Why do I need to choose a Church” at the 2011 Former Adventist Fellowship weekend.  He speaks on what traits a Biblical Church will exhibit an why we should seek to become connected with a local body of Christ.

J. Mark Martin is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Community Church, a grace oriented fellowship of over 12,000 believers located in Phoenix, Arizona. Pastor Mark grew up in Medford, Oregon, and later attended college in Northern California at Pacific Union College where he graduated with a B.A. in theology. While attending college, he met his wife to be, Leslie, and they now have three children. Pastor Mark has been teaching God’s grace for over 25 years.

Pastor Mark was raised a Seventh-day Adventist, a legalistic denomination that emphasizes salvation by works and absolute adherence to the doctrines of their false prophetess. Mark started pastoring during college and was forced to resign when he began to teach the grace of God. Mark’s experience under legalism gives his ministry a unique emphasis on the love and grace of God, which is demonstrated by Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins.
